Bruce Boisen

I’ve spent more than three decades in the fenestration industry — first as Marvin’s New England representative at AW Hastings, where I built lasting relationships with architects and builders across Vermont, New Hampshire, and the Adirondacks, and now as the founder of PRISM Collaborative, where I bring that experience to bear on a new generation of high-performance European window and door systems.

I’m based in Essex, New York, on the western shore of Lake Champlain — a place where the relationship between a building and its environment is something you feel every season.

What I do at PRISM isn’t so different from what I do when I lead certified cycling trips through the Canadian Rockies, Death Valley, or the Vermont countryside. In both cases, I’m responsible for knowing the route better than anyone in the group, anticipating the hard sections before they arrive, and making sure every person I’m guiding reaches the finish with confidence. With fenestration, that means specifying the right system for the project, producing shop drawings that resolve conditions before installation begins, and furnishing and installing as a single accountable scope — so nothing falls into the gap between trades.

European systems — Makrowin, Schüco, Salamander, Centor, SUYS — represent the leading edge of what windows and doors can do thermally, aesthetically, and mechanically. My job is to make that capability accessible to architects and builders in the Northeast who demand the same standard of craft from their fenestration that they bring to everything else on the project.
